This week, Patrick Boutot, a senior programmer at Warner Brother Games Montreal (http://wbgamesmontreal.com/), is a guest speaker of the COMP-361 "Software Engineering Project" class on Tuesday, March 31st t at 14:30 in Trottier 1090. He has a masters degree in AI, and has worked in the past 10 years on multiple games as part of different game development studios: on small franchises like Pilgrim vs the World, Dogz and Tiny Brain, to AAA titles like Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham, and Borderland.
His informal talk consists of 2 parts: He will first talk about the basic architecture of game engines, their most common mistakes and how they could be improved. In the second part he will talk about game production, and what to expect when working as part of a team of over hundred programmers.
