Details of the research project:

  • Faculty, School, Department, and/or Unit: Faculty of Arts, School of Social Work
  • Project Goal: Clinical trial pilot intervention project which collects mix-method data.
  • Scope of the research project and your research needs: The Caregiver Grief Connexion project delivers a six-month telehealth intervention for bereaved caregivers and collects confidential clinical data to better understand and support their needs. As the project expands, we are seeking a research intern to lead the development of secure, user-friendly databases for both clients and partners. This work will involve assessing current data processes, ensuring compliance with Loi 25, and designing systems that streamline clinical documentation while prioritizing data security and ease of use for clinicians.
  • Objectives this research project accomplishes and/or helps contribute to:
    • Data Security Analysis: Conduct a thorough evaluation of our current data security systems, ensuring compliance with privacy laws, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen data protection protocols while maintaining operational efficiency.
    • Compliance with Loi 25: Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for building a client and partner database that aligns with the latest regulations under Loi 25, ensuring both data security and accessibility.
    • Optimizing User Experience: Develop a highly intuitive and user-friendly database structure that enables clinicians and researchers to easily access, manage, and analyze both client and partner data, promoting efficiency and usability.
    • Data Integrity and Analysis: Implement systems that not only capture accurate and consistent data but also streamline data analysis processes for effective decision-making in the palliative care space.
    • Collaboration Tools: Integrate collaboration features that will enable real-time data sharing and secure communication between our team and external partners, facilitating seamless collaboration.
    • Enhanced Data Reporting: Create dynamic reporting mechanisms that can produce customizable reports for various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity in our findings.
    • Scalability and Flexibility: Design a scalable database solution that can grow with the project and adapt to future needs, while keeping future updates and maintenance simple.
    • Website Optimization: If time allows, contribute to making the project website more intuitive and engaging for users, improving navigation and accessibility for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Cutting-Edge Data Practices: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and recommending new technologies or practices for data security, database management, and user interface design, ensuring that the project remains at the forefront of innovation within our current budget.
