Position Title: Research Assistant: Analysis of Neurophysiology and optical imaging data obtained from the brain

Work location: 3801 University St., room NW 255

Hours/Week: Approximately 35 (Full time) during the summer

Duration: May 1st – September 30th, 2025 (extension possible)

Hourly Wage: The salary is commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience.
Primary Duties
A research assistant position is open at the Montreal Neurological Institute Brain Imaging Centre.
The candidate will use existing software packages and scripts to develop pipelines for analyzing Neurophysiology and optical imaging data acquired from the brain.
Education/Experience

The ideal candidate holds or is about to secure a first or second degree from the ECE, Software Engineering, or Computer Science programs.

They should have excellent programming, communication, and organizational skills.

Ideally, they should have previous knowledge of signal processing, image processing, statistics, and machine learning/AI, and proficiency in: Linux. git, remote computing, containerization technology.

Ideally, they should have experience with Python, and knowledge in modern Data Science methods.

Knowledge of neuroimaging analysis software and methods and willingness to learn new data analysis techniques, neuroscience, and brain imaging are assets.
