2014, 2015 Chemlogic: A Logic Programming Computer Chemistry System, 2ed

Presented at the 2014 and 2015 Canada–Wide Science Fairs.

  • Developed a system to help users solve chemistry problems.
  • Created an Android app as a user-friendly interface to the system.
  • Implemented the system as a modular Prolog program, applying grammars, syntactic unificiation and constraint logic programming.
  • Designed as a study tool for high-school chemistry students and as a calculation tool in the lab.

2011 alpine-backup: An rsync-powered Incremental Backup System

Presented at the TTP conference

  • Developed a system to implement and manage backups in a complex environment with multiple physical locations.
  • Created tools to monitor the status of backups, backup devices with unreliable network connections, and dump data from various services.

Volunteer Experience

2010–2013 School Web Platform, Mount Sentinel Secondary School

  • Developed the school website, a hosting system for student portfolios and a web-based digital signage systems.
  • Developed a seamless single-sign on system, combining LDAP, Drupal Bakery and Moodle MNet.
  • Ensured high uptime of system supporting over 300 users, despite the extremely unreliable hardware.
  • Implemented MySQL replication, filesystem synchronization and automatic failover.
