Know only implicitly. No explicit questions about Chapter 4.
Chapter 5: Encoding and Modulating
All, but no details such as Figure 5.37.
Chapter 6: Transmission of Digital Data: Interfaces and Modems
- Not 6.3, with the exception of Figure 6.18.
- No details such as the pin numbers of a DB-25 connector. Be able to
describe EIA-232 transmission however.
- First part of 6.4, not Modem Standards however. Should however
know what DPSK (p. 167) is.
- Understand derivations in 6.5 and 6.6.
Chapter 7: Transmission Media
- Rough idea of frequency ranges.
