Primer and oligonucleotide selection

ospX reads in nucleotide sequences and predicts PCR primers using an extensive set of constraints governing both primer and product characteristics.

The example below shows the results of ospX analysis of a rice PR5 gene:

A scrollable map indicating the positions of potential primers is shown in blue. Clicking on any primer brings that primer into the oligo info window, shown in black.

ospX can be run from the GDE Oligo menu, or from the command line by typing 'ospX'. A text version of the program can also be run by typing 'osp'.
