Question: "how long do I need to work on this?", "do I have
to use up all the time?", "when do I know I'm finished?", etc., 

Answer: Subjects are to implement the requirements as best and as
efficiently as possible.  They can end whenever they feel they have
done so.  No additional precisions should be given.
