Course: COMP 551 D2  Applied Machine Learning

Location: Downtown Campus

Semester: Winter 2018

Schedule: TR; WF

 

Prerequisites (*): Ph.D. in Computer Science

Experience: Expertise in content area of the course. Previous experience as an instructor or teaching assistant at the university-level Evidence of teaching excellence, e.g. McGill COMP Course Evaluations (as Instructor or Assistant). Ph.D. candidates applying must state qualifications and teaching experience.

Other: Excellent English and communication skills. Extensive knowledge of machine learning is required, including algorithms, platforms, libraries, datasets. Topics to be covered include: linear regression and classification, decision trees, SVMs, neural networks, deep learning, unsupervised learning, parallelization for large datasets. Experience with various data types, including text, images, video and others is also required
