Prof. Louis Collins elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

Congratulations to Prof. Louis Collins for his recent election to Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada! Louis is a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill, and also an associate member of the School of Computer Science. From the RSC’s web site: Louis Collins is a world authority in computational neuroimaging. He has made significant contributions in the development of innovative software tools to align, segment and analyze medical images. He invented original intraoperative ultrasound techniques to correct for brain shift in image-guided navigation in neurosurgery. He pioneered ground-breaking computational methodologies and mathematical modeling techniques to study the brain’s structure and function using neuroimaging, predominantly in neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative disorders.
